The Server, Routing Service, Dispatcher, Logger and Wallboard packages each come with a configurator. It starts by itself at the end of the installation. Later, you find it in the Start menu under ilogixx GmbH › myContactCenter › Configurators — for example, to change the service account or after an update. Every configurator requires administrator rights.
Structure
Every configurator guides you as a wizard through the same sequence:
- Welcome to the configuration wizard.
- The pages with the settings of the service — database, registration points, service account. What they contain is described in Setting up the server, Dispatcher, Logger and Routing Service and, for the Wallboard, Setting up workstations.
- Configuration process with the Start button.
- Installation successfully completed with the Finish button.
You change pages with Next and Back; Enter works like Next. Next only works once the page is complete. Exit closes the configurator after a confirmation prompt.
The fields are prefilled with the previous settings. When it starts, the
configurator also stores a copy of the settings file of the service under
%ProgramData%\ilogixx GmbH\myContactCenter\Backup.
The service account
Server, Routing Service, Dispatcher and Logger ask for the Windows account under which the service runs — see Requirements. The fields have the same names in all configurators:

The button next to Account name opens Select a user: on the left, under Select domain or host, double-click a domain or your own computer; on the right, double-clicking a user selects them.
As soon as you leave a field, the configurator checks name and password. If they don’t match, the password field shows Invalid credentials; if the check itself fails, for example because the domain cannot be reached, it shows An error occurred while validating credentials. Next only works with valid credentials.
Start
On the Configuration process page, click Start. The configurator stops its service; the Server Configurator also creates or updates the database — see What Start does in the Server Configurator. Then it switches to the last page by itself.
Finish
Only Finish applies your entries. For the services:
- The configurator saves the settings file of the service and gives the service account full access to it.
- It enters the service account for the service and grants it the right to log on as a service.
- It sets Windows to restart the service immediately after a crash, and starts it.
- It creates the myContactCenter log in Windows Event Viewer — see Windows Event Viewer.
The Wallboard Configurator only saves the settings file of the Wallboard. Then the configurator closes without any further message.
Running a configurator again
You can run any configurator again at any time, for example to add the password of the service account or to change a registration point. Go through all pages up to Finish; from Start to Finish, the service is stopped. With the Server Configurator, this also runs the database update — with a backup if you want one.
