The spell check checks agents’ email replies and boilerplates against the dictionary assigned to the language of the conversation. myContactCenter uses dictionaries in Hunspell format, as LibreOffice and Firefox also do. The Administration comes with dictionaries for some languages.
The dictionaries are under Global elements › Dictionaries; this requires the Spell checker dictionary configuration permission. For each dictionary, the list shows Name, Culture, Number of words and Original dictionary name.
Loading a dictionary
A Hunspell dictionary consists of two files: the word list and a file with the
rules for word forms (extension .aff).
- Right-click the list and choose Add.
- Click Load Dictionary and select a ZIP file containing both files — or
the word list itself; the
.afffile with the same name must then be in the same folder. - Check the Culture, for example “en-US”. The Administration takes it from the file name; the Name follows from it.
- Click Save.
After loading, the dialog shows the size of the files, and the list then shows the Number of words. If it shows 0, the word list is missing.
If a dictionary is defective, the dialog reports The dictionary is defective and could not be loaded. Without a culture, it cannot be saved: A dictionary must have a language set.
Assigning the dictionary to a language
A dictionary only takes effect once it is assigned to a language: under Global elements › Languages in the dialog of the language, field Dictionary — see Languages. A dictionary can serve several languages, for example “en-US” also for “en-CA”.
How the dictionaries reach the agents
After saving, all logged-in agents receive the list of dictionaries and download a new or changed dictionary from the server by themselves. Words that agents add to their own dictionary stay on their computer.
If you delete a dictionary, the agents remove it as well.
