Extended warranty

What the extended warranty covers, how to check before an update whether it is sufficient, and how to create an order list for the extension.

The extended warranty is the software maintenance of myContactCenter: as long as it is sufficient, you may install any new version. It applies per feature and is extended with warranty keys, which you enter like license keys. The tab only exists with purchased licenses.

When the warranty is sufficient

What counts is the release date of the version running on the server: the warranty of every feature for which you have purchased licenses must extend up to that day. If it is not sufficient for a feature, a grace period of 30 days starts after the update; after that, the purchased licenses of this feature no longer count. A warranty key extends the warranty by a number of months for the number of licenses it specifies.

Checking before an update

  1. Open Licenses › extended Warranty.
  2. Under Test date, set the release date of the version you want to install.
  3. The chart shows one bar for each feature and package: how far the warranty reaches from this date (Available) — or how many months are missing (Missing).
  4. Click Create Order List.

The order list names the identifier of your system and, for each feature or package, how many licenses must be extended for how many Months. If the warranty is sufficient, it says that no extension is needed. Send the list to your reseller; enter the warranty keys you receive on the Features tab — see Entering license keys — and activate them.
