Faxes reach myContactCenter via a fax server: it converts every incoming fax into an email to a mailbox of the contact center. That is why you handle faxes in the same module and with the same buttons as emails.
Accepting a fax
A fax announces itself with its own ringtone; the notification window shows Fax. Accepting, parking, passing on, rejecting and closing work as for emails. Your profile sets separately how many faxes you receive at the same time.
The fax document
The fax itself is usually an attachment to the fax server’s email. You find it under Attachments; a click opens it with the program that Windows provides for this file. The Agent has no fax viewer of its own. The fax server determines the format in which the fax arrives — for example PDF or TIFF.
Replying
Technically, a reply to a fax is an email. Email addresses contains the sender address of the fax email, usually that of the fax server. Whether your reply reaches the customer as a fax depends on how the fax server is set up. If in doubt, ask your administrator.
You cannot start a new fax in the Agent.
