Starting and logging in

Starting the Administration

Start myContactCenter Admin from the icon on the desktop or in the Start menu. The Administration connects to all servers you have added before and logs you in there — without prompting if your login data is saved, otherwise with a login dialog for each server.

• The Administration runs only once per Windows session. Starting it a second time has no effect; switch to the open window using the taskbar.
• While it is running, its icon appears in the notification area of the Windows taskbar.

Adding a server

When you start the program for the first time, no server has been added yet.

1. Click Add Server.
2. In the Connect to server dialog, enter the computer name or IP address of the myContactCenter server under Name. You can select servers you have used before from the list.
3. Click OK.

The server appears at the bottom of the navigation pane, and login begins. If the field is empty, the dialog reports Value is missing; if the server is already in the navigation pane, Server already exists.

Unlike the Agent and the Wallboard, the Administration connects directly to the server, not via the Dispatcher. For this, the server must be reachable on TCP port 6001.

Logging in

The login dialog shows the name of the server in its title.

1. Enter your user name under Name and your password under Password. The name is not case-sensitive; the password is.
2. If the Administration should log you in to this server without this dialog from now on, turn on Remember login.
3. Click OK or press Enter.

While the server checks your details, the dialog shows Registration process running. If login succeeds, the dialog closes, and the areas for which you have permissions appear under the server in the navigation pane.

Cancel or Esc closes the dialog. The server then remains in the navigation pane without a login; you can log in later with Login on the ribbon.

If login fails

The login dialog shows errors in red; it remains open.

With No free licenses, logoff now., the navigation pane remains empty, but Licenses on the ribbon can still be used. This lets you enter license keys even without a license — see Licenses. Then log in again.

If something is wrong with the licenses of the server, the information area reports Please check your licenses after login, if applicable with the remaining time Deactivation occurs in … day(s).

Remembering the login

With Remember login, the Administration logs you in to this server without the dialog at every start and after every interruption of the connection. The login data is stored in encrypted form in your Windows user profile.

• If a remembered login fails, for example because your password has changed, the Administration turns off Remember login for this server. Then log in with Login on the ribbon.
• Logoff also turns off Remember login.
• Remove Server deletes the saved login data of this server.

Multiple servers

You can add several servers and be logged in to all of them at the same time. Each server has its own entry in the navigation pane with its own areas.

The commands on the ribbon apply to the selected server: the server to which the entry you last clicked in the navigation pane belongs. If several servers have been added, the ribbon shows the name of the selected server — or No server selected as long as you have not clicked an entry yet. A server you have just added is only selected once you click one of its entries.

The server in the navigation pane

The role of the server is shown below its name:

While master and standby synchronize their data, the entry shows the progress as a percentage. If the server recalculates its statistics data after an update, it shows Updating with the time elapsed so far.

The icon in front of the name shows the state:

• green — the server is active,
• orange — the server is passive,
• green transfer icon — the servers are currently synchronizing their data,
• red — no connection. The Administration tries again every five seconds, without a message.

Logging off and removing a server

Logoff logs you off the selected server. The server stays registered, its areas disappear from the navigation pane, and the button is called Login again.

Remove Server removes the selected server from the navigation pane and logs you off there. In doing so, the Administration also deletes the saved login data and list layouts of this server. It remains in the drop-down list of Add Server.

If the server logs you off

In some cases, the server ends your session. The Administration then shows a message above the window:

If someone stops the server, no message appears: the areas of the server disappear, and its icon turns red. When the server is running again, the Administration reconnects by itself and logs you in again — without a dialog if your login data is saved.

Where the Administration saves its settings

The Administration saves the added servers, remembered logins, the list layouts, window size, zoom, surface design and language per Windows user in the file %AppData%\ilogixx GmbH\myContactCenter\Admin\appsettings.json. Each user of a computer thus has their own settings. If such a file from older versions exists in the program folder, the Administration adopts its values at the first start.
