The Server configuration contains the settings that apply to the whole system: the connection to the phone system and mail server, the behavior for idle agents, standby operation, logging and more. You open it with Configuration in the Servers group of the ribbon; it applies to the selected server. From Status of services, the menu item of a connection — for example of the mail server or the phone system — takes you directly to the matching tab.
The tabs
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Server | server details, defaults, AI key, automatic reports — see Server tab |
| Agents | behavior for idle agents and after login — see Agents and agent script |
| Script | the agent script — see Agents and agent script |
| Standby | master and standby — see Master and standby. The tab is missing on a standby server. |
| Data | real-time statistics and banned contacts — see Statistics and exclusions |
| PBX | the phone system — see Phone system |
| Email send configuration | sending emails — see Email sending and address books |
| Address books | contacts from Outlook and the phone system — see Email sending and address books |
| Maintenance Plan, Tracing Settings, SNMP settings | database maintenance, logging, monitoring via SNMP and emails for alarms — see Logs and monitoring |
| Special activity handling | activities that myContactCenter triggers itself — see Agents and agent script |
Main administrators also find License manager at the bottom left; see Licenses.
Permissions
Some parts depend on permissions of their own — see Operation and server configuration. Only main administrators can edit the Maintenance Plan. The other tabs can be edited by anyone who opens the server configuration.
Saving
Save transfers all tabs to the server at once and closes the dialog. If basic details are missing, the Administration asks first: Settings are missing, with a list of the functions that will then not work — for example Telephony (PBX), Mailing (Email configuration), Translations/Transcriptions (Azure) or Automatic reports (Server-Defaults). OK saves anyway.
If another administrator saves the server configuration while you have it open, your dialog loads the new values; anything you have not saved yet is lost.
When changes take effect
| Setting | takes effect |
|---|---|
| Agents, special activities, ticket tag, preview size, agent script, tracing, statistics, SNMP, address books, standby | immediately after saving |
| Email sending | with the next email sent |
| Path for recordings | for calls that start afterwards |
| Phone system | as soon as no call is running, see What happens when you save |
| AI key | only after a restart of the server and the Routing Services |
