The server works with two databases — see Databases:
- the configuration database on the SQL Server with configuration, license data, statistics and alarms,
- the Monitoring Database with the tickets: emails, chats and call data.
For the configuration database, the Settings tab has the Database group. Its commands apply to the server you have selected in the navigation pane:
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
| Create backup | backs up the database to a file |
| Show Backups | lists the backup files and deletes them on request |
| Maintenance | rebuilds the indexes and shrinks the database files |
| Clean up database | deletes statistics data up to a date |
The group is available to every logged-in administrator; there is no separate permission for it.
Creating a backup
Create backup immediately starts a full backup of the configuration database. The Administration reports Backup in progress, please wait; you can continue working in the meantime. Depending on the size of the database, it takes seconds to minutes. At the end, it reports Backup created in file with the full path — or Backup not created. The reason for an error is given in the log of the server.
The backups are stored in the folder
C:\ProgramData\ilogixx GmbH\myContactCenter\Server\Backup. The file name
contains the database and the time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), for
example <Database>_2026_9_23_18_5_0.bak for September 23, 2026 at 18:05
UTC. In standby operation, the command only backs up the database of the
selected server.
The backup contains configuration, license data, statistics and alarms. It does not contain
- the Monitoring Database with the tickets,
- recordings and voicemails,
- exported reports,
- the settings files of the services on their computers.
Showing backups
Show Backups opens the Backups window with all files in the backup folder of the server — including those not created with Create backup, for example during an update. The list only shows the file names; date and time are part of the name.
- Delete deletes the selected file immediately. The Administration reports Backup … deleted or Removal of backup … failed.
- Cancel closes the window.
You cannot restore a backup in the Administration, only with the tools of the SQL Server, for example SQL Server Management Studio. While you are restoring, the server must not use the database. Coordinate this with your reseller or ilogixx support.
Maintenance
Maintenance starts the maintenance of the configuration database; the Administration reports Maintenance started. Maintenance runs in the background and does not report when it has finished. In standby operation, the partner maintains its database at the same time. If maintenance is already running, starting it again has no effect.
Maintenance
- rebuilds all indexes,
- shrinks the database files and
- then sets the database to the full recovery model.
The server starts maintenance automatically according to the maintenance plan of the server configuration. Schedule it there for quiet times, for example at night.
Cleaning up the database
Over time, the database collects a lot of statistics: the history of every agent and every conversation, from which reports and dashboards are created. myContactCenter does not delete any of it by itself. Clean up database deletes what lies before a date:
- Click Clean up database.
- Under Clean Database up to date, select the date. The default is the date one year ago. Everything that started before this day is deleted.
- If necessary, select Agents, Skills or Languages; All Agents, All Skills and All Languages each select all entries. Without a selection, the cleanup applies to all data.
- Click OK and confirm You want to clean up the database? with OK.
With a selection, the cleanup only deletes the data of the selected entries. If you select in several lists, each selection applies on its own: the data of the selected skills is deleted, plus that of the selected languages and that of the selected agents — not only what matches all of them at once. For agents, the cleanup deletes their status history and their steps in the conversations; the statistics of the conversations themselves are kept.
Tickets, attached data, alarms, recordings and the configuration are not affected. In standby operation, the partner cleans up its database at the same time.
The cleanup runs in the background. At the end, the Administration reports Database cleanup results: under Deleted entries, the Total and, per selection, For selected skills, For selected languages and For selected agents. The server records every cleanup in the database with the date, the name of the administrator and the time.
